My entrepreneurial ventures

Trails

Trails is a high quality and personalized virtual tour website by PDS students for prospective students. As a tour guide and student ambassador, I chat with a lot of prospective families! On tours, I realized that there wasn't nearly enough time to capture all of the places and student voices that make PDS so awesome. In addition, I realized there are many families who would love to tour PDS from the comfort of their home. With the support of PDS, I created Trails, a student-built, free-to-use app that provides families with an in-depth, authentic look at what it’s like to be a student here. Through Trails, families can experience classes & facilities, talk with current students, take personalized tours, read the experiences of over 80 students, and explore the PDS campus. From the students of PDS to you, learn more about PDS's opportunities, history, and community.

Readwell

Readwell is an EdTech, subscription-based app that offers high-quality middle grade adventure stories for children. Their library is curated with care by librarians, educators, and scholars, including customizable reading lists and unlimited audiobook content. With education and a love of reading in mind, Readwell aims to deliver the new classic. As an intern at the Princeton Univerity eLab Accelerator, I coded, designed, and pitched the app.

CollidAR

CollidAR is an Augmented Reality app to teach students introductory physics concepts like gravity, force, acceleration, and energy. When you open up the app, you can select a physics property you would like to test, which will navigate you to another page with specifications. Users can modify what type of AR model is tested, its mass, size, color, metallic properties, and more.

Because of COVID-19, millions of kids, specifically in underprivileged communities, lost valuable years of education, a phenomenon known as the “COVID-slide.” When the NWEA reported that students returned in 2020 with less than 50% of the learning gains in STEM subjects relative to a typical school year,. I wondered, can I use AR to help? CollidAR gives students a way to try out difficult-to-understand physics concepts in a detailed environment non-replicable in real life.

19Covaid

19CovAid is a COVID-19 mutual aid platform for volunteers and recipients of support to find each other and stay in touch via private messaging. It’s like having opportunities stored as contacts in your phone - people are already signed up, you just have to reach out! Users can sign up, provide their location, and create a post offering or requesting help. An important feature is that they can find opportunities in their area and connect with on-site messaging. Volunteers are offering services ranging from grocery delivery to supplying free homemade masks to general assistance. Between our site and next door group we have nearly 300+ volunteers and requesters registered. We soon realized that 19CovAid could help other mutual aid organizations manage volunteers and requests. Our built-in workflow, privacy controls, and in-app messaging can help them streamline their efforts. We’ve been partnering with local mutual aid groups and nonprofits to onboard them to our platform and reach a wider audience.

Mentorite

Mentorite is a volunteer mentoring platform for students needing help to connect with qualified student tutors from their school. Students can sign up and post a request for help or submit an application to be a mentor. Once they post a request for help in a certain subject, all of the mentors who are approved to help with that subject will receive a notification. Students can also directly reach out to mentors. Both sides can start a chat with the other student. From there, the two will work out logistics such as a time and google hangouts space.

Mentorite gives schools a way to bring pre existing student tutoring services online. Schools can also expand their mentoring programs to include new students and mentors, as more people are needing help than ever before.
